King Saul is dead. The already-anointed successor, David, hears the news and begins to consolidate his position as the new king of Israel. Thus, begins the book of 2 Samuel which tells the story of King David. And what a story it is: the insurgency battles with the followers of Saul, David=s conquering of Jerusalem, the bringing of the Ark to Jerusalem, The Davidic Covenant, David and Bathsheba, David=s endless family troubles, David=s fleeing from Jerusalem, his last war with the Philistines, David=s last words, and the story of the purchase of what would later become the Temple Mount.
Romans – Christ & the Gospel of Salvation
10:30 a.m. – Church, Room 11
Teacher – Tim Dixon
While all Scripture is God inspired or God-breathed, there are some parts of the Bible that contain more doctrinal truth than others. The Apostle Paul has much to say in Romans about the value of those doctrinal truths. Romans is a great exposition of the faith. It is the complete and most logical presentation of Christian truth in the entire NT. If there is one book that every Christian should understand, it is this letter. Why? Come join us this summer and find out.
