Go Change the World!

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:4-5 (NLT)

By the time you read this I will have recorded my thirtieth episode of my “Live With Basilio” online sessions, which meets on Thursdays at 4pm via FACEBOOK and soon simultaneously on YOUTUBE.  That means that I have been doing these sessions for thirty weeks.  What I intentionally started online to stay connected with the Lighthouse Worship Community and my growth group called Change Makers was soon opened up to the entire church family and beyond.  I did my first online session on March 18, 2020, after we were forced to shut down due to the pandemic.  In total it has been thirty-six weeks since I started meeting online.  So why only thirty episodes?  Well, I postponed an episode the week I got married in June, another when my grandmother passed away in September, another after Facebook deactivated my original account citing a violation of community standards (whatever that means), and another when my car was keyed right before I went live, among other things.

The mission has been consistent for the worship community: “To transform our homes, community, and world by pursuing God, building community, and unleashing compassion, one neighborhood at a time.”  The vision: “To reach 1% of the population of Oceanside with the hope of Jesus Christ.”  Now that we are in December we are reminded about the light that has come to the world and the hope that we have in this amazing gospel.  This light is for everyone.  So pursue God by putting him first in everything, build community by doing life with other believers, and unleash compassion by severing sacrificially in the city.  Learn more about Operation Hope led by Gil & Diana Maza and Seekers International Foundation led by Jeff & Sylvia Roddy.  Go change the world!

Would you be open to partnering with me as we continue being the light in this last month of 2020 and head towards 2021?  How about reaching 1% of the population of Oceanside (1780 of 178,000) together?  I would enjoy talking with you more about how together we can transform our city by spreading the love of Jesus Christ.  See you on Thursdays at 4pm for “Live With Basilio” (facebook.com/lccoo/live)!
