Guess What? – I’m Getting Married!!!
“Honor and enjoy your Creator while you’re still young, Before the years take their toll and your vigor wanes,
Before your vision dims and the world blurs and the winter years keep you close to the fire.” – Ecclesiastes 12:1 (The Message)
My father gave me the above verse in Ecclesiastes on the day I was ordained as a pastor at the age of eighteen. I always remember that verse. Friends, I am currently living out some of my strongest and healthiest years and I intend to continue giving them to God. But I am not alone. God has given me a helper named Sharon to share in this beautiful journey called life. She is my better 2/3rds. Sharon has been a wonderful encourager and a true gift from God. Pray for us as we start our new journey as husband and wife and give these, our best years, to Him in service to others. My first ministry and priority will continue to be Sharon and my family. Pray for me as I serve you as a pastor and pray for Sharon as she continues her journey to become a Physician’s Assistant. Because of the current pandemic situation, we have decided to have a small private wedding ceremony on Thursday, June 11th, with our immediate family, and once things begin to open up, we will have a bigger celebration according to our original plans with more of our family and friends. Wedding registry updated soon. I will also be taking Sunday, June 14th off (my first Sunday off from Lighthouse) to be with my new wife. Let us continue to pursue God in Worship, Build Community, and Unleash Compassion together. Glory to God forever!
