Hey Lighthouse, this is Pastor Mike with an important notice for us all:

Remember the disciples in the storm on the Sea of Galilee?  Well, we’re in one now.  And like them, we need to keep our eyes on Jesus, with faith that He’s the Master who can calm any storm and get us safely to the other side.

As you know by now, the current Coronavirus threat has brought drastic action by the authorities, and things are constantly changing.

Our state and county health departments have banned public gatherings of more than 250 people, and of less than 250, unless you can keep 6 feet or more between people, which is not doable in a church environment.  So in order to comply, all of our services and studies and meetings of any kind and any age group have been postponed at least through the end of March.  We’re sorry to have to do this, but as Christians we are asked to be good citizens and comply with our authorities, and this is intended to keep more people safe and well – and we all want that.

So consider getting together with friends or family to worship on Sunday mornings if possible, and have your own home service as they did in the early church.  You can sing, read Scripture, and tune in and discuss the latest sermons on our website.  You can pray and fellowship together, or have a home Bible study during the week.  Let’s stay connected to each other.

And please support us each week with your tithes & offerings so we are able to weather this storm. We depend on your faithful support, so you can give online, by text, or mail in your giving each week, and know that you’re helping to keep us afloat and shining the light though our ministries and missions.

All this is temporary.  The meeting ban will be lifted before long, and we will get back to normal and get back together in worship, study & fellowship soon.  In the meantime, let’s resist cynicism and selfishness and instead pray for each other, and for our church, and our nation, and look for opportunities to help or to serve others in the name of Christ.

Is there someone you know that needs help getting to the doctor or to the store, or needs something you could get or share what you have with them?  Do you have enough food and supplies so that you don’t have to overstock and hoard items that others need?

Let’s get through this with faith and hope, not fear.  Let’s be a good example to others.  Let’s take care of each other.  Let’s be a shining light in dark times, like a lighthouse.

Our staff is still working, and we will be here if you need us, so call or email our office with any prayer requests or special needs, and we will distribute to our prayer partners.  Stay tuned for any updates on our website, through our phone messages, or social media.

Before long, we’ll all be back together again.  Until then, stay healthy, stay safe, and let’s keep our eyes on Jesus!
