Peace in Uncertainty

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace.”  Ephesians 2:13-14

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, there is much to feel anxious about in our world, and if we keep our eyes fixed on this world we will soon be undone.  If we feast on our google searches, social media accounts, and cable T.V. we will find ourselves anemic, unable to receive the life-giving oxygen of the gospel which will transform our lives and communities.  Do not forget though that you are not of this world (John 18:36).  You are now a citizen of heaven, brought near by the blood of our Savior (Philippians 3:20 and Ephesians 2:13-14)!

We are here now, living our lives and experiencing all the ups and downs that come from living in a broken world.  “Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring.  What is your life?  For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes” (James 4:14).  We cannot know what tomorrow will look like so let us live how God would have us today. Let us then think on our Peace, which Christ has secured for us, by Himself.  Let us live boldly for Him and in Him, whatever may come we know we have been brought near to the throne of God.

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”   1 Peter 5:10
