To The Beloved
To the beloved congregation of Lighthouse Christian Church,
When I reflect on these last four years, I am immensely thankful God allowed us to come here to serve you. Carissa and I came here in 2017 and immediately felt so loved and blessed by you as a congregation. Your desire and ability to communicate the love and community of God as His church has been evident since day one. Even in this time of departure the love and support from so many of you has been tangible. You guys could never know how much God has used your generosity to provide for us and impact us beyond what you may have imagined. We have so many memories and relationships that we will cherish forever. I have been so humbled and blessed in all the ways you have let me step into your lives. The messy times, the times filled with grief, the joys, and the celebrations, they have all been humbling. Many of you have also stepped into our lives and encouraged us by sharing your very lives as well. I want to leave you with this encouragement from one of my favorite passages: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2
Let each one of us, no matter where we are, keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, for He alone is our only hope. “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
Thank you all so much for your prayers and encouragement to me and my family.
