“14 But thank God! He has made us his captives and continues to lead us along in Christ’s triumphal pro-cession. Now he uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume. 15 Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God.” 2 Cor. 2:14-15a (NLT)
If we are in Christ, then we are now free and no longer slaves to fear or sin. Even the apostle Paul praises God because “He has made us his captives”. Captives to what? The answer: to the hope of Jesus Christ and the power of the gospel to change lives and eternal destinies. Like the fragrant and expensive perfume Mary poured on Jesus’ feet before wiping them with her hair when she anointed him (John 12), may our love and passion to see others experience the knowledge of Christ be that powerful and overwhelming. You and I have this amazing opportunity to know Christ and make him know in the community, first in our homes, then our neighborhoods, and around the world. Join me as we take the church into the community and share the eternal life-giving fragrance of the gospel.
How? CARE Bags! On Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 3pm in Room 4, we will be assembling backpacks filled with clothes, non-perishable food, toiletries, and mini-Bibles. After a short training we will go into the community and gift them to the homeless and start spiritual conversations. Please pray today that hearts would be softened and that the workers would be plentiful. This is for everyone!
Let’s continue partnering together as we transform Oceanside with the hope of Jesus Christ in 2022! Check out my 7-DAY Daily Devotional on Facebook and Instagram starting on Wednesday, March 2nd. Join me also for “LIVE WITH BASILIO!” online on Wednesdays at 4pm via Facebook Live (face-book.com/lccoo/live).
