Thursday Growth Groups

The Book of 1 Peter

10:00 a.m. - Church, Rooms 5 & 6
Leader - Chaplain Richard Phillips (760-822-7168)
Materials needed: Your Bible

I Peter is an encouraging letter of hope written by the Apostle to those Christians crushed, overwhelmed or struggling with life. Though it is written to Jewish Christians being persecuted for their faith, the letter is very important for today’s Christians suffering in many different ways. As our culture in America is increasingly becoming antagonistic toward God and Biblical values, we need to face the testing of our faith with confidence and resolve. Peter instructs on what we are to believe in Christ, and how we are to live by faith as Christians.
Come join us for this discussion-based study of God’s Word with meaningful fellowship to comfort and encourage one another.

Kingdom 101

6:30-8 p.m. - Church, Rooms 5 & 6
 Leader -Edward Cates
Materials needed: Your Bible

In the four Gospel accounts, Jesus mentions the Kingdom of God more than one hundred times! In fact, the Kingdom of God (or the Kingdom of Heaven) is unquestionably the central theme of His entire earthly ministry! Matthew 4:17 tells us that the first public message Jesus ever preached was, “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
And when Jesus sent out the group of 70 disciples, He instructed them to, “Heal the sick there, and say to them, ‘The Kingdom of God has come near to you.” (Luke 10:9).
The message of the Kingdom was clearly an essential focus of Christ’s message, yet so few of us have ever understood it.
Come Join us as we dive into the words of Jesus about the Kingdom.
